Thanks for sharing some behind the scenes 🎬 always love reading your newsletter.
The landing page thing is particularly interesting to me. What tools did you use to build yours? I've been noticing a trend for people making separate landing pages outside of Substack to get people to subscribe and it seems worth it 🤔
Makes me wonder if Substack will ever incorporate more features like social proof or custom code blocks into their core landing page builder. For me, I miss the days of Myspace so more customizability the better 🙌 if I could add a custom cursor I absolutely would 😂
Thanks so much, Meg! I see you all the time liking my newsletter. I really appreciate iit.
I totally agree! I think that's the thing with Substack—i don't know what my conversion is LOL. I can't find it in /publish/stats/ page. Is it there? I really do hope that they add more features like custom landing pages and welcome email sequences.
That page is just built on Ghost (the CMS for the podcast).
I'm considering moving my newsletter over to Substack, so it's interesting to see that you still have a landing page outside of the platform. And also how much of a % come from within the platform.

I'm also curious how well the Substack landing page converts compared to your custom one!

Thanks so much, Neal!

Super cool! How do you explain the sudden spike in May 2023?
Thanks, Tom! That was when I signed up SparkLoop to pay for email subscribers.
